Simple solutions. Our health promoters also recommend adding a flip-cap from a tube of toothpaste to the end of the spigot. Why? Because all homes in rural Nicaragua are open-air and there are flies, gnats, and other pests that could make their way up into the spigot. In this way, our filters are made even more safe for the people they serve.
