Our family is a cookin’ family.  We’re southern, by the grace of God, so there’s a ton of great stuff in the family recipe book.  In here you’ll find some of our old standards.  Follow the instructions closely and you can look like the brilliant chef you’ve always wanted to be!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner!  Yeah, I know its hard to believe, right?  Check out my Thanksgiving Feast links to look like a world-famous chef when it comes to YOUR dinner.  The family will rave and rave at these delicious traditional recipes.

Southern Style Desserts:

Chocolate Meringue Pie – My great-grandfather loved these.  This recipe makes two pies, one for your dinner party (or friend’s house)…and one for YOU to keep!

Red Velvet Cake – DEEP South recipe…If you’ve only had Red Velvet from your local grocery store or God-forbid Pepperidge Farm’s frozen version…you’ve never had a real Red Velvet cake.  This bad-boy recipe is from scratch and is RED…I mean RED, RED, RED.  Cut the pieces small too, it’s rich.

Old Fashioned Tea Cakes – In case you don’t know, these are cookies.  Semi-sweet, flat, light, delicious cookies.  You’ll rarely find these in any cook book…but you will find them here!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake – The last pound cake recipe you’ll ever use.  …and the top of the cake…oh my.
